Fender vs. Marshall in SS Amp head to head?

Diminished Triad

Fender Mustang V V.2 HD 150W Guitar Amp Head combined with Fender Mustang V V.2 412 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet

*or*

Marshall MG Series MG100HCFX 100W Guitar Amp Head on top of a Marshall MG Series MG412CF 4x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet (the Marshall cabs come in both straight and slanted models).

I've only owned tube amps but the practicality of solid state (and reported improved sound) causes me to take a real (second and third) look at adding one of these models to our band equipment.
Anyone have experience with either of these or comparable models?

Thanks for sharing!

Vox VT150pro. Better choice than either.

The Mustang is going to have a lot more to offer, voice-wise. Lots and lots of stuff to explore on computer via the Fuse software. 150w is loud for SS.
The MG is big and sounds like a Marshall. 100w is starting to fall behind on an SS amp with a loud drummer, at least in my experience.

The Vox is 150w at the speaker and another 150w with an extension, so it'll push 300w. The voices are very nice, and there's a tube making both the power and preamps sound better.

Tech 21 earned their reputation for building solid state amps. Marshall didn't. Wait, I forgot about the Valvestate.

I agree with Jon, Vox Valvetronix Pro is the best out there right now.

If going for an inexpensive modeler, try Peavey VYPYR.... doesn't sound as strong and juicy as the huge heads it models, but has ~90+% of the flavour (like listening to the real thing through worse speakers or smthn) and a good 75% of the in-your-face viciousness.

Oh and they had a huge 120w version with a tube preamp or some such thing too.

Better than Valvestate, for sure (owned one. unreliable, though an easy fix reflowing the caps. a bit of a one trick pony, only one truly good sounding distortion tone to be found dialing in & it wasn't quite my thing, and the rest weren't quite right sounding).
