YUP.:smokin: There are some conflicting reports. I've read that Eric used a tweed Champ & Duane used a BF Princeton. Either way? They got some righteous tone.jdm61 said:most of Derek and the Dominoes "Layla" record was allegedly recorded using two Blackface Champs:fingersx:
the guy who invented fire said:Any tweed...I prefer the smaller ones for OD tones. My Super is quite amazing, a late 50's Deluxe is great too.

I bought my Deluxe Reverb Reissue with a 64' Jensen and NOS tubes at a guitar show when I knew I wanted a tube amp, but hadn't done much research on what sound I was going for. I spent a month not really warming up to the amp until I just decided to crank it and see what it would do.
After I cleaned out my shorts I was plenty warmed up to it!
Stumbled onto both deals.....I'll keep ya' posted :wink:flank said:damn man. That will be nice :smokin:
Thanks for the replies guys. too bad all these amps (with the exception of blackface bandmasters) are mucho expensive nowadays :smack:
Picked up the Pro from a guy on the Telecaster Forum & the Bandmaster in a trade....both should be here tomorrow :32:jdm61 said:Hey Puck...did you scoreone of the Pro's that was on Ebay over the weekend? TFor some reason, there were some ok deals on blackface amps the last coupleof weeks on Ebay. Saw a real nice 65 Deluxe go for $1500 the other day Buy It Now. Not great, but not bad. Also saw a 68 drip edge Twin gopt for under $1100.
