Fenders and pedals.

Re: Fenders and pedals.

deluxe reverbs and vibros just swallow pedals whole and spit out the bones after growing fat and mean on the extra protein.

Re: Fenders and pedals.

Don't know about that pedal specifically, but I tried a bevy of pedals through a Deluxe Reverb at the Dallas Guitar Show a couple months back. The amp was a great match to the wahs and high gain pedals I was trying.

I couldn't have said it better. I think this applies to most fender tube amps with considerable watts though. I was going to chime in and mention that ever since i got my hot rod deluxe, a pedal as simple as a boss DS-1 sounds HUGE and nothing like what you remember from the first time you plugged into it, and then into a solid state 15 watt marshall combo. I once heard Funkfingers say something like, "you want to know what your guitar really sounds like? plug it into a fender...". I think its true. if fender amps had an extensive EQ section (which *I* wouldn't use, but thats besides the point) i think that with a few pedals, they would be the perfect amps for almost anything.

Re: Fenders and pedals.

Thanks for the help guys. Im running through an orange tin terror and a 212 but im going to university soon so i need to switch to something a bit more practical

Re: Fenders and pedals.

fwiw - i reckon the deluxe reverb is as close to a perfect amp as i can imagine.
BUt - if you dig your TT, then maybe you coukd just downsize the speaker box to a 1x12 with a less efficient speaker.

Re: Fenders and pedals.

Ya i deffinatley dig it! Its just that theres not enough clean for my taste. Some of you will probably debate that, but for me they just kinda lack.
