so just fitting a strat with an HSH config means going ibanez, right.

Yeah, cant be the first HSH strat, they did this one (with DiMarzios too), there must have been others.

Yep, swamp ash, trans red finish (not quite as dark as the Fender in the pic).

Other key features:

- hard-tail string-thru
- oil finished maple neck
- angled headstock
- Sperzel lockers
- sculpted heel w. Ibanez-style bolts (i.e. no plate)
- blessed by the Space Pope

I'm reeealy excited. pinto79 and I are still nailing down the specs, and I'm still gathering up the required funds. I'll be documenting the whole process once it starts.

Nothing new here at all,one of my guitar buds has been playing a HSH modded fender big apple for years, he had a PG made for it to have the HSH pup layout instead on the stock HH.:approve:

Cool guitar, but I'm not seeing how this is like Ibanez . . . it's just a regular H-S-H strat. No floyd, no 24 frets, no extra scooped horns, no crazy colours . . .

I think it has more to do with the woods and finish.

It looks like a Strat with a H/S/H pickup combination to me. Am I completely overlooking something really special about the guitar? I do however like the hand stained color.

P.S. where did it say it was Swamp Ash?
IN any event Ash with an Indian Rosewood neck isn't really the most desirable configuration ever.
Not saying you couldnt bring it to life with the right Seymours, but it'd take some effort.
The stock pickups must go.
