Filling in Screw Holes

After re-doing my my basswood Ibanez, a few of the screw holes are stripped from taking screws in and out so much. And NO before some of you tell me that I was tightening the screws too tight, thats not what happened. It's just that after taking the screws in and out of a "sandy-ish" cheaper basswood body, the wood's threads where the screws just kinda of went away after a while. Any easy way to fix this? Shoudl I just pour in wood filler and redrill the holes?

Re: Filling in Screw Holes

or the faster way is to use pieces of toothpicks and wood glue and jam it all in the screw holes and put the screw in... but don't tighten it really hard..

This works great. I had to fix an old washburn strap button screw hole. I dont recall having to use wood glue. I believe the toothpicks alone did the job.....

well the glue makes the wood swell and also it holds the tooth picks pieces in place once the screw turns it into mush in the hole
