Finally finished, ChAoZ - Eruption

Re: Finally finished, ChAoZ - Eruption

May I ask what the fret-size and material/brand be? And also how it's tuned and strung (type and gauges)?

Noticing the 4 springs made me wonder, although the claw is quite backed-out.

Thanks Pete, it's now time for it to find it's "forever home", I'm not sure what it's worth though - you've sold many guitars do you have any idea?
tricky..

I believe that any hand made instrument is worth more than a production unit, however people are very shy of paying what an instrument is worth..
the best starting point is to ascertain what a good guitar sells for, say a Strat as an example..
do you believe that your guitar is better in quality than a strat?
then price accordingly..

I made the mistake once of figuring out my hourly rate....

it worked out at around $3-$4/hour..

I then increased my pricing..

so now i work for the princely sum of $5-$6/hour...

people (customers) can be odd.. when you ask them what they get paid, they will tell you and cant believe anyone would work for such a low figure...

but....

They balk at paying the price if they applied their hourly rate to the cost of the instrument...

and that doesn't take into account the cost of timber and hardware....

soooo......

get what you can, buy more timber, make more and one day you may...may... actually get paid a fair and decent price for your instruments...

I'm still waiting by the way... after many, many years...

i came for a second look and i love it! wooooooot

Re: Finally finished, ChAoZ - Eruption

That is one nice looking guitar. It's a Lot like Eddie's guitars but with a cleaner look. I love the stripe you have running diagonally along the fretboard. Very impressive.

Jescar FW57110 Nickel Silver Electric Jumbo Fretwire used, E standard tuning, D'Addario 10-46 strings, trem block shim is sitting flush with the body and dive only so you can engage the D-Tuna without tuning issues

I prefer the slight difference in feel of 4 loose springs v 3 tight springs

Thanks Pete - very helpful, Kids in a Chinese guitar making sweatshop would probably laugh at my hourly rate :)

Re: Finally finished, ChAoZ - Eruption

I'd like VH a lot more if he played a guitar you built, and Friedman or Bogner amps.

I honestly don't know how there's enough guitarists in the world to keep a company like EVH afloat.

If I made guitars like you do, I'd have a hard time selling them, because I'd want to keep them if I couldn't get $3000.
