Removed the green paint with lacquer thinner, then sanded off the tinted brown. Left the original seal coat on as I didn't really want to break out the Tru Oil and spend a few more days on it. Sanded through in a few spots but not too worried about it. Dimarzio Tone Zone in the bridge, Calig MegaDrive with an A4 magnet in the neck.

Re: Finally got around to resurrecting this one...

So you took the green one, stripped it, re-routed the neck pup pocket, and changed the neck. Are you going to leave it natural or are you going to yet paint it?

I actually liked the green.

Re: Finally got around to resurrecting this one...

Also chiseled down the neck pocket angle and sat the bridge flat on the body. ;)

Probably leaving it natural. Come March/April it will be warm enough in the garage to start painting things again.

Re: Finally got around to resurrecting this one...

I think I like the Jackson neck better, looking good!

Nice!
I hav a set of Calig neodymium singles in a Strat copy that sound really good, how do you like the Calig in that guitar?

Re: Finally got around to resurrecting this one...

Um….you left out "Replaced the entire neck with…."

Works perfectly. This one originally had a neodymium magnet in it, figured the neo would be a little on the bright side so I swapped it.

Um….you left out "Replaced the entire neck with…."

Thought that was pretty obvious. :)

.....Chinese Jackson copy neck.

Keep it natural. Looks really classy that way.

To me it's a little on the pale side. I can always paint it, and remove the paint again later. :D Again, that's a question for later when it warms up again. It's been 30 degrees at night for the last few weeks so the painting booth in the garage is on hiatus. :D
