Finally happy

A few weeks ago I modded my main/favorite guitar for what I hope is the last time and thought id share

I shielded the cavities throughout with shielding tape, added a DMT tone and rewired her. Now she has a modified version of an andy timmons wiring scheme.. with the addition of a kill switch, volume bypass, DMT tone, and a neck always on mod, and added 2 solid p/u covers.. i still need to find my back cover and shield it and put that on but she is done

Came together really good except for a blunder or two..i HATE when i havent worked on projects for awhile then work on something.. i always make stupid mistakes.. correctable but still.. time is lost. this time was no different. in any case, she is complete..
the wiring diagram i drew up..some grounds are not illustrated before anyone says anything

and the actual wiring

My dream guitar would be exactly like this guitar but with some changes.. like neck-thru,quilted top for the body/headstock, change the placement of the jack and recessed, probably go with a H/S/H with parallel, split, and phase wiring but other than that would be the same, AND i have it in my head that having a top rout for the control cavity only would be really kool.. either have the cavity cover , wood to match the body or some mirror cover that would complement the body's color.... just an idea but i think this guitar I have in my head would be awesome
not sure on the pickups other that i want an aged clone of the humbucker in her now.. seriously sounds very good but would change it to a 4 conductor

Re: Finally happy

Sweet look with that gold pickup. Grats on the mod. I'm about to take my push pull out and replace it with a standard 500K pot.

Hells ya!

glad you like.. this guitar sounds so good to me.. the only guitar I own that i can literally feel all the string vibrations through the body.. just sounds very sonically pleasant.. the humbucker is 22 years older than the guitar but its a match made by the guitar gods themself.. and to think... i only added this pup in 2010 because i was broke and the designed by duncan had no balls..so out of desperation i looked in my parts box which this pickup resided since around 93' ....this humbucker is only ~7.5k ohms which is less that the hb102 by about 1.5 to 2 k i guess.. been so long... this old ass pup screams and harmonically so much superior to the one which it replaced.. its not even in the same class

i think she looks sexy as hell.. the black solid covers really look nice on her.. before i just had the middle with a cover because i couldnt find any with the right spacing for the neck p/u.. its slight different than the middle or bridge.. main reason i went with solid covers.. i also think solid covers look better IMO..was going to paint them gold then after i saw her with the black covers on .. i was like f*ck gold.. gold should be used sparingly UNLESS its a wood stained guitar.. then ALL gold!! lol

I really like the color scheme I have.. some gold.. some black.. NO CHROME.. i really hate chrome unless its one of those rare occasions it looks "right"

I REALLY love this neck.. thinner and flatter than my DKMG neck.. i guess this is what is known as a wizard profiled neck.. was never a fan of thin necks but im really attached to this one.. it just feels and looks right.. + it has a dark rosewood board .. so much better looking than a light colored rosewood board IMO.. DKMG neck was too light.. bleh.. it looks better since i treated it with lemon oil though
