Finally NAD! Yay! :D

De som väntar på nåt gott väntar aldrig för länge, as we say in Sweden. Which means "those who wait for something good never waits too long".
Yay @ my brand spanking new Vox AC30C2! My first "real" amp (it replaces my old Vox VT15)!
Just played with it for about an hour and it's flippin' floppin' awesome! Couldn't be happier!
My SG Special sounds like a combination of cotton candy and sex through it! And when I plugged in my Hagström Viking 12-string, the middle possition, which sounded a bit muddy through my VT15, basically made me soil my pants! Holy mother of Glob!
So far I've only ran my Rat through it, as I'm between pedal boards at the moment, but it sounded amazing as a gainy solo boost with a moderate amount of tube dirt already from the amp.
And now, what you've all been waiting for! The pics!

Well, that's one hell of a way to get a first "real" amp... awesome stuff indeed! Enjoy it, they are great sounding amps for sure.

Well, I've been dreaming of one for as long as I've been playing guitar! So I figured, why get something that I don't really want?

Re: Finally NAD! Yay! :D

Good for you, I dread to think how much money I wasted in my younger years getting something that was good but not what I really wanted! It's definitely the way to go.

Re: Finally NAD! Yay! :D

They make a head version of this one correct? If so, I was looking at these a few days ago.

Hmmm, not that I know of. Only Vox heads I know of are the AC4 and Night Train models. Tho I think they might've made an AC30 head in the past.

I remember stepping up from my first tube amp to my first quality tube amp. Man, my pedals sounded so much better.
Dunno what your definition of a quality tube amp is, but IMO this one is a quality amp. So I stepped up from a 15w modelling amp to a quality amp. :P
I've gigged through Mesa and Marshall tube amps before, on kitted out gigs (only played gigs with a set backline), so it's not the first tube amp I play through. But I've never had the chance to sit down and actually play with one like this before!

Re: Finally NAD! Yay! :D

The amp I was referring to is my 68 Fender Bassman. And yes, that is a great amp, congratulations.

Re: Finally NAD! Yay! :D

Alright, been playing a bit more with it now. Sadly, my 3m guitar-to-board cable (straight/angled regular plug Planet Waves) crapped out and had to be replaced by my 9m emergency cable. A noticable drop in tone. Some eq tweaking and I got my tone back tho. I'll buy a new 3m cable (straight/angled Planet Waves with gold plated plugs - same kind as my board-to-amp cable, which is a straight/straight 6m Planet Waves gold plated plug cable which IMO is an awesome cable for the price) when I get some fresh money in 10 days or so.
Next project is to update my pedal board. Gonna replace the Gator board with a Pedaltrain Jr. Keeping my old ProCo Rat and EHX Smal Clone and will replace my TC Flashback with a Malekko Ekko analog delay. I'll also get a nice boost pedal (Xotic EP Booster is the prime candidate atm) and some kind of overdrive (since I'll be running the AC30 clean - been looking at Sweet Honey and OCD mostly) + a board tuner, probably TC PolyTune Noir. I'll also stick the reverb/tremolo footswitch for the AC30 on there.
Well, thanks for all the thanks guys! :)
