Finally routed the 71 les paul

Re: Finally routed the 71 les paul

No, people said they in their own opinion didn't like what you did, and you got all defensive and threw a tantrum.

You need to learn that other people's opinions are just that. You're now ruining this thread with your insecurity too.

I had another thread asking for opinions beforehand when i was contemplating the idea. It's not a simple tantrum or "insecurity" when the first reply off the bat is some asshat who tries to act like I'm the ******* for reacting appropriately to his troll-ass comment. It's cause & effect.

Another member made a good analogy: When you're being pelted by mosquitos, it's only natural to swat back.

Re: Finally routed the 71 les paul

No-one was pelting you - in either thread. Your analogy just confirms my supposition - thanks for that. You mistake the simple offer of advice you don't want to hear (or that has views against your stand) as an attack.

And you cannot keep from profanity in such cases. I'm very surprised you're not banned from MLP....that sort of childishness is a short-cut to a holiday.

If you notice, i wasn't negative toward anyone in the other thread(at least not that i remember), because i actually wanted the opinions to help make up my mind at the time.

Your perception is flawed if you don't see any of them as personal attacks. Even if they weren't, that thread has no place for it. What's done is done. If they disagreed, they should have voiced it when i asked or kept it to themselves.

Adults use profanity.... hence the term, "adult language." It's nothing more than a conversational intensifier. The profanity is censored anyway.

If i pulled that guitar out of the case to show a few people(in real life), and someone came up and said i "ruined it" or anything of the like, the rest of us would turn to him and look at him like he lost his mind.

Re: Finally routed the 71 les paul

Contrary to prediction, the BB pro neck in the bridge actually sounds more jangly and than the BB1.
The BB Pro neck is a BB1 with an A5, of course it's more jangly than a B1. I can't imagine why anyone would have said otherwise.

I'm not a fan of the pros overall, but they worked out well enough in my 335. I do like the other various BB models in my other guitars, very usable stock pickups.

Re: Finally routed the 71 les paul

Man, I posted this on the MLP forum, and people had a **** fit. I'm like.... it's mine, and it's never getting sold. Still, they let it ruin their day like someone killed their ****ing dog or drew a big veiny dick on Mona Lisa's face.

I used to be one of the guys to just barge into people's threads and **** all over stuff i didn't agree with, but now i don't do it unless they actually ask for an opinion or if they're spreading misinformation. Some people just need to get a life.

/r

Most MLP forumites are either sockpuppets (of the internet kind) or jackhats. I don't know why people bother.

Dig the goldtop, even if it's backwards. :naughty:

If he (or anyone for that matter) did get banned from MLP (whooptie-do), he wouldn't be missing anything, and that's for damn sure...

Is "My Les Paul" forum the same as "The Les Paul" forum? Getting old can't remember, and either way - I hear you. Great spot(s?) for technical, but the obsession is too great.

I have absolutely seen people run in and CRAP all over a thread for no reason (happens here occasionally). But I get it about the hardcore fanboys.

As a guy with four Les Paul - no use for those places....

However, I could find LOTS of uses for that old Goldtop!!!!!!!!! Current pic????

Re: Finally routed the 71 les paul

I think it looks great! (With the cream parts that is)
Just imo, A goldtop with black plastics just looks funky to me.

Also- I don't understand why we have to have all the drama... chasing great tone defiantly doesn't require it.

I actually ended up sticking with the BB1, because the pro didn't have the same overtones with the wax potting. Not as lively.

i put a current pic on the OP.

Yea. I like the black, but the cream looks more classic to me. I'm even considering making a double cream Seth.

Re: Finally routed the 71 les paul

No, completely different.

Alex C owns MLP along with a handful of other forums (marshallforum.com too, for ex)... chock full o' ads to pull in revenue, and
chock full o' sockpuppets and bantering forumbots to pull in members.

It's nothing but a zoo, and even the mods act like monkeys. And it's quite possible that AlexR here is AlexC.

The Les Paul Forum (I've been a member since '03 or whenever it started) is full of "Gibson grognards" and super-serious collectors.
While they can be snooty corque-sniffers (HAH) at times, they're the real deal. Elliot Easton posts there, for example.

Re: Finally routed the 71 les paul

I plan on modifying the original pickguard to work too.

Very nice Les Paul Deluxe, put the ABR bridge in the right position.
