Finally some pics of my 75 Vibrolux Reverb

It may not sound as good as it does now! :D
At least with the BF mods.
What I mean is, if the tone is THERE for ya Greg (and sounds like it is cos you seem really psyched)...why mod it to a different circuit? It may sound awesome, but maybe not whatcha want/as good?
I guess i'm just paranoid...when I find a "formula" that works really well, and I LOVE it...then I try to make it even better/make "improvements", I usually make it worse (and believe you me, I do this ALL the time :bigthumb:)
EDIT: That said, I'm really glad ya found your amp Bro! I know you were completely outta your mind there for a bit...been there..done that :D

This amp does sound pretty good but I am positive that after Jeff Seal gets his hands on it and get's it up to 100% correct it will sound amazing...

Re: Finally some pics of my 75 Vibrolux Reverb

It's just true...to be honest you haven't even completely heard that amp yet...the new tubes and speakers helped but Im telling you it's gonna be a tone manster after Jeff gets done with it!

Make no mistake, I'm not doubting Jeff's work by any means..that's not what I meant at all.

Just that paranoia of mine :D

I believe you. I just have to get it done and hear it. You haven't let me down yet oh wise one.

Thanks again for solving my tremelo problem yesterday!!!

Re: Finally some pics of my 75 Vibrolux Reverb

is jeff doing blackface mods? if so, what differences are expected with this?

Re: Finally some pics of my 75 Vibrolux Reverb

Would you be sending the whole amp or just the chassis?

That might be part of JeffBs paranoia that has rubbed off on me...after our Marshall incident, I'm not sure I wanna ship or receive another amp, just way too many things that can go wrong.

That said, I just grabbed an ATA case for my Fuchs so I feel better in shipping it to Fuchs to have an upgrade done :fingersx: :smack: :fingersx:

I was thinking about having my super reverb blackfaced but man after playing a couple gigs with it, there's absolutely no way I can do it. The tone is there, it's perfect. I can't screw that up :)

Re: Finally some pics of my 75 Vibrolux Reverb

It's about time you got some pictures up, loser! :laugh2:

That's a great looking amp, bro. - very clean. I think you got a winner there. And if you're sending it to Jeff you WILL NOT be disappointed.

La-hoo-suh-her!! Thanks bro!

This amp was pretty nasty before I got ahold of it. There was a ton of dirt, cat hair, a couple of roaches etc. I spent about 2 hours toothbrushing every square inch of this thing. After that I Armorall'd the tolex and put new speakers in it. I just called Ampwares and my back panel, aged grill cloth, and tube sleeves should ship today. After that this amp will LOOK almost like new.

I hopefully will have my amp from Scott sometime soon. After I get it I will figure out what electronic work to do to it.

I am not usually into restoring stuff like this, but this amp is a blast to tinker on.

My dad who played in bands all through the 60's played on it Easter Sunday and said "dang boy, that's the best sounding amp you have ever had. It sounds 10x's better than that amp you had last week" (refering to the Tophat). If you see another one of these buy it for me and I'll pay ya.

Pretty cool that pops loves it too!!

Re: Finally some pics of my 75 Vibrolux Reverb

Ya but it's a 2x10 ain't it? You really need a 2x12. I better take that thing off your hands.

Well, it sounds like your really in love with it. I'd hate to separate you from her.
Besides you price is a little high for me right now because "in Philadelphia it's worth $50 bucks." :D Know what movie that's from?

I do need a fine amp like that VR. Perhaps one day I'll get one. Enjoy it Greg.

6L6 amps are awesome man, congrats!

This thread is sort of old but since I myself am thinking about saving me money up and getting an old Fender... Hmm...

I sure do like the Vibrolux amps.

Gotta love GAS, haha.
