Finding a dogear p90 that will be low enough to fit a strat?

I have this parts strat here. Its one of my favourites...rewound jap goldfoil on the neck and thats it. But i need a bridge pup & wanna get creative!

So the body on the strat has been hacked up, so under the pickguard its just hollow. That is why i think a dogear p90 would fit the bill.

But it needs to be pretty low to not hit the strings.. im thinking its gotta be less than 1 cm in height.

Another concern is if it will cause phasing issues with my old Gold Foil. If so, is there a way to fix phasing issues with pickups?

Thanks a lot!

Phasing issues can be corrected by simply reversing both magnets in the P90.

A dogear P90 cover will require mucho clearance between the body and strings. This would almost certainly involve shimming the neck to an extreme degree.

Far wiser, IMO, to get a soapbar format P90.

Yep, if you don't actually own the pickup yet it seems like the soapbar would be the choice, buying the dogear format would just be purchasing probable incompatibility.

I had the same issue finding a neck pup for my Casino. I found a pup cover that is only about 3/16" in ht. and tapers to 1/8". This will probably work for you. I'll try to find you the link.http://www.angela.com/lindyfralinpremiump90dogearneckpositionpickupcoverblack.aspx

I know it's a neck pup but I'm sure Lindy can wind you a bridge pup with this cover.
