Fingering across 5 fret

When playing chops across 5 frets, do you use fingers 1,2 and 4 or 1,3 and 4.
I have been using 1,3 and 4 but I have noticed all the guitar hero's tend to use the 2nd finger. How about you guy's and your technique.

I use 1, 2, and 4. Then again I have freaky hands and can stretch from the 1st to 7th frets :laugh2:.

I actully use 1, 2, & 3. I never use my pinkie cept for chording, and when I play slide. But I do use my thumb quite often. So apperently I'm a freak. But thats not really a surprise.

I use 1 2 4. I can get 1 and 2 two frets apart more easily than 3 and 4.

1, 2, and 4... i used to use 1 3 and 4 until i realized the other way is easier

Thanks guy's you have convinced me. I was just trying the 1,2 ,4 fingering and it is easier. Duh!

depends on the next note for me, if say i fret 3-5-7 and then something lower than the 3 on any of the strings ill use 1-3-4...if say i fret 3-5-7 and then something higher than the 7 on any of the strings i use 1-2-3

P.S. - I can also do a 1-7 stretch
