Hey dudes, does anyone else have his fingernails on his left hand (if you're right handed) growing a lot faster than on his right hand? I guess it's because of bending and fretting the blood flows faster or something?

Re: Fingernails?

I can't tell really, but I think they are, but for another reason:

I have long fingernails on my right hand for fingerstyle playing and I think they are somehow pushed not to grow so fast from the pulling of the strings (plus they are worn away when I play on the acoustic instead of the classical), so the left hand nails SEEM to be growing faster.

I have neven thought of this before... it may be just me idea because I am too lazy to file down my right hand nails, but I am not lazy to just chop away the left hand nails :laugh2:

Re: Fingernails?

I don't think so, I think I just notice them more. When I fret a note, the skin of my fingertip will touch the fretboard. When the nails have the slightest length to them (like, 2 days after I last bit them as far down as I can), sometimes, when I'm fretting a chord, a bit of my nail touches the fingerboard. I hate it when this happens, so I bite it off straight away.
