Finnaly got my new guitar (PRS Soapbar)

After ordering a PRS SE Soapbar and reciveing the first guitar busted up during shipping I took delivery of it's replacement yesterday. All I can say is it's one hell of a guitar for $400. If you're looking for a P-90 guitar you may want to check this one out before they're gone.

Still thinking about it. But i'm leaning toward the Super distortion. I want to be able to get good distortion but still have a nice clean sound as well, it's hard for me to decide when I don't know what all my options sound like.

I know the "regular" production PRS use Duncan P90's. I wonder if these are Duncan Designed? If you want what they use in a McCarty Soapbar, get a Duncan Vintage neck for the neck and a RWRP Duncan Custom neck for the bridge.

Yes, I said Custom NECK version for the bridge position. It works, and it balances out very nicely.

I had MJ wind me a set of Phat Cats to those exact specs for my BLE McCarty. She even put brushed nickel covers and gold posts on them for me to match the BLE theme. MJ rocks!

oh yeah, P90's are about the coolest pups in the world.

Nuntius - How much is that US?

I'll probly put a mini humbucker in it but i'm going to hold off for a little while. These p90s sound so damn good clean. Not sure if i want to go all out with the super distortion or go with one of the stacked humbuckers. I'd like to hear what those should like, if anyone has a clip they could share that would be awesome.

Yep that pretty much has to suck. But i'm wonder if your income is also offset in relation?

Just got done playing for 3 hours straight with the Soapbar. I picked up my strat after playing the PRS and couldn't play it worth a crap. The neck profiles are so different, It takes time to get used to the other again. I like the middle switch position the best (both pickups), it definatly has it's own sound and that's not really a bad thing

Yeah, nice pic! Those are really a bargain at $400. I'm not sure I'd even change the pickups. Just have a guitar with hums, singles, and P-90's. I like the black one a lot better than the cherry one. I'm not looking for any guitars right now, but a Singlecut would be my first choice.

Just curious about your first shipment. How did it break? Was it in a gig bag and box?

It was shipping in its gig bag (very nice gig bag i might add) wrapped in bubble wrap and put in an electric guitar box. The guitar took quite a hit, i'm not sure if you saw the pics of the damage in one of my other thread or not. It put a large dent in the body of the guitar which cracked the paint. The replacement I got was wrapped with more bubble wrap and put in an accoustic guitar box to be shipped, as you can see it made it

i got mine in a les paul coffin case .... for $400 shippped and mine came in perfect shape.. the neck is fatter than my hollowbody with the wide/fat

Man you got lucky.. Wish i got a HS case I've been playing the hell out of this guitar the last few days. My American Strat only got touched to do SRV Little Wing. The pickups sound so unique clean I love it but when distorted it doesn't fit to my type of music. Think i'm ready to get a stacked humbucker or Super Distortion. Might stay way from the Super Distortion to keep my clean sound though..
