Here is the start of my first build:

Warmoth001.jpg

Warmoth002.jpg

Mahogany body, Q-sawn maple neck w/ rosewood board & SS frets. TOM and tuners are Gotoh. The pick-up is probably going to be either a Custom 8 or a Distortion. The neck is going to finished in Tru-oil w/ a black headstock. The body is going to be painted a color similar to olive drab and have white stenciled letters, like an old military vehicle. Here is a test piece I did real quick (sorry for the cell phone pic):

Pics and updated info will be added as the build progresses.

Re: First build

looks cool, I'm a huge fan of the Warmoth headstock.

The military thing looks pretty awesome as well. Its gonna be one hell of an axe when its done

Re: First build

Nice! Should be bad-ass when it's all done. I dig the Warmoth headstock as well. Which size frets did you go with?

Re: First build

Fret size is 6105. I like the height of the jumbo frets on my Jackson, but like how the smaller frets on my Squire give a little more room between frets. So the tall & narrow wire seems like a good comprimise. Neck contour is the Wolfgang profile. 10-16" compound radius.

Lose the tone knob and it's the perfect guitar. :D

Somehow I knew that you would say something like that.

Re: First build

I love the 6105 frets too. Not huge, but tall enough to get under the string for easy bends.

Keep us posted on the progress.

Re: First build
