trem sounds better clean than cranked

Re: First Celtic Caitlin Amp (Tweed Tremolux Clone) Clip

Man, that sounds killer! Way dry, and in need of some verb, but killer nonetheless!

That said, I didn't recognize the riff :(.

Yeah, Scott asked that I post a clip that's purely guitar > amp, no effects in between, and no post-production. The idea is to give listeners a taste of the pure tone. If I were recording this for the general populous, I would've added reverb, compression, etc., and I would've done more takes to get the riff right.

The riff is familiar to me -- check out "Born on the Bayou" by Creedence Clearwater Revival -- but I've never played the tune before. It's just what people had been asking to hear, so I did it. It's an awesome song (although a far cry from metal. ;) )

I definitely noticed that. Haven't had much of a chance to check out the cranked tones, but for the bit that I did, the tremolo was far less prominent. That's pretty much what ya want anyway.

Very nice. The tremelo is pretty killer and the tone is spanky-spanky. I'll bet you can play some nice blues with that setup.
Celtic Amps rock!

Re: First Celtic Caitlin Amp (Tweed Tremolux Clone) Clip

wow - just wow

very very lush

and dead stinkin quiet even with a split pup

i liked the way there was a little 'breath' between your attack and the trem blooming full .. so when you hit a little chord and choked it, it wouldnt have much effect on it .. but when you let the notes ring, the shimmer started and was nicely prominent ... very cool indeed

nice work scott

enjoy and play in good health keith

To quote my favorite quote, "That's so good, you will slap your mama in the mouth!"
