First thoughts on FullShred Ceramic: WINNER!

THIS is the perfect mid point between the Custom's power and the FullShred's tightness. It's still tight as hell, and THERE IS NO LOSS OF CLARITY!!! While I thought the Ceramic magnet would make the FS a bit mushier, it in facts doesn't. It just makes it bassier and a bit more powerful. It's also less crunchy, which goes with my thought that A5 is simply crunchier than Ceramic.
Harmonics JUMP out of it. It's very easy to pinch, do natural and artificial harmonics and they sound great. The lead sounds are also, for me, better than with the Custom.
It's WAY bassier than both FullShred and Custom I'd say. With all the controls at 5 on the JCM800 POD model I had a VERY GOOD chug tone. Right now bass and mids are at 7, and treble at 7.5. There are more low mids than on the FS, so you can increase the chunk by adding mids too, but the bass is still as present. Dial in more bass and honestly can 'hear' a bar diagram with the bass getting bigger!
The Custom wins in terms of power.
The FullShred CERAMIC wins in terms of clarity.
The FullShred wins in terms of crunchyness.

Crunch:
FS>FSc>Custom

Bass:
Custom = FSc > FS but the bass is more present in the FS, then FSc and finally Custom. The Custom's bass is less easily picked up in the mix but a big bigger sounding.

Clarity:
FS = FSc, MAYBE FSc > fs, > Custom

Power:
Custom>FSc>FS

Brightness... that's a toughie...
FS>FSc>Custom I think.

Take your pick ;)

My one guitar I always play. Basswood Charvel model 4. Pickup was wired to a 3 way which allowed it to be on with the volume pot, on directly to the output and off.

Re: First thoughts on FullShred Ceramic: WINNER!

ahahah KEVIN
i´m selling that FS you gave me to buy a set of Bare knuckle pickups..
do you want it?

Re: First thoughts on FullShred Ceramic: WINNER!

I don't think it'd have enough output for our friend here, though the 5150 probably would change that ;)

Re: First thoughts on FullShred Ceramic: WINNER!

hAHAHHAHA NAH, I´m not worried about the Output. ahahah i just want a balanced EQ. not too much bass, and not flabby bass. Not scooped or reduced middles . and not weak highs or reduced highs. output can be moderated.
i found out that the custom custom has ENOUGH output for me

Re: First thoughts on FullShred Ceramic: WINNER!

JP it wasn't a FS I gave you but a Hot Rails neck pickup. Did that ever work out for ya? Should sound sweet in that Charvel Fusion Deluxe of yours.

ahahaha i confused the PUP specs
YAH... the full shred it totally WORKED.
i´m thinking in selling both, the Hot rails and the Custom custom trembucker.. to buy a set of WARPIGS.
Are you interested?!
