First Time Recording Something

I had wanted to do some recording but always thought I needed recording gear. Danks thread got me to wondering if I could do a simple video recording with my digicam so I tried it.

I don't think the sound quality turned out too bad. Decent enough to start recording and posting clips anyways.

What do you guys think?

Put the beer down and try again.

I kid I kid. Sounds fine. How far from the cab did you put the mic? Sounds like a few feet from the clip.

Re: First Time Recording Something

Reminds me of that group Sublime.
I must be drunker than I realized because I was trying to stuble through Skynyrds "That Smell"

The camera was about 3 feet away on a tripod around 1 1/2 feet off the floor.

Re: First Time Recording Something

The sound quality was better than that Billy Gibbons clip.

What axe?

Re: First Time Recording Something

Good work man. Love the sound of that amp. Hope to own some big rig like that someday!

Re: First Time Recording Something

Whisky bottles and brand new cars
Oak tree you're in my way

Re: First Time Recording Something

Is that a silver jubilee? I need to hear more if so. I'm really considering gettting a kit and having Glassman build me a clone of a 25/50. Sounds really good ya drunk redneck!

Re: First Time Recording Something

I'm fairly certain that's his Ltd Ed DSL. 100W I think, but not sure. Really nice sound actually Lucid, the guitar and amp sound amazing actually. I really miss having a tube amp and a place to play one. This year I will be back to work and will get a decent Marshal or Marshall style head to get back in the game.

Record some more stuff man.

Nah, it's the Silver Edition DSL. It has upgraded transformers and other crap. Speakers are V30's and G1275s in an x pattern

Hey! You can actually play.

Upgraded crap? That sounds different. Did you get cheaper caps and resistors and pots fitted?

I'm not 100% sure what all is different on it. I don't know the first thing about electronics or how or why they work. It's all crap to me.

Re: First Time Recording Something

Man that sounds noticeably better than the DSL that I had. I don't know what was up with that amp. It never sounded remotely that good at any volume. Didn't matter what the bias was either. It just sounded thin and harsh no matter what. Changing it to G12H30 speakers improved the tone, but it still sounded very modern. Yours sounds really great man. Good playing as well. You should be proud of the rig and the playing.
