Fishman Fluence Classic Humbuckers?

Hi Everyone, I have been checking these out recently and wondered if anyone has any experience? They seem to be giving other competition a run for their money. I have many passive pickups in my guitars and have learned many things from this forum for awhile. Is the Fishman Fluence hype worth it? Are the pickups difficult to wire up?

Paging Frank Falbo and Darth Phineas!

They are pretty easy to wire up. The Classics sound very nice. You get a pair of PAF sound, kind of a Seth meets 59 thing, and then you have a JB kind of tone for the bridge and a really interesting vowel-y tone for the neck. I set mine with the vowel tone and JB being the primary voices used. Also you have the high frequency tilt which fattens it up like a long cable does. I really liked that as well.

Thank you for the reply! Does the high frequency tilt need to activated with a push pull pot type of mechanism? or is it a switch on the pickup itself that is set once and forget? I just bought a pair of Screamin demons for a project guitar I'm building with a roughcast alnico 8 in the bridge. I'm kicking myself because these Fishman pickups sound so cool! lol

Re: Fishman Fluence Classic Humbuckers?

The High Frequency Tilt can be either/or. You can wire it to a switch so you can select it, you can leave it off, or it comes with a little jumper that, if installed, will turn the HF tilt on as a set and forget. But you could also wire a set/forget simply by wiring the HF Tilt wire to ground anywhere in the cavity.
