If it only happens on positions 1,3 and 5 it is most likely the hum that is normal from single-coil pickups. You probably have a reverse wind / reverse polarity middle pickup that is preventing the hum when you combine pickups in positions 2 and 4.
If you can't live with the hum you could try shielding the guitar better, but the only way to definitely lose it is to get some single-coil sized humbuckers. Stacked humbuckers like the Classic Stack or side-by-side like the Duckbuckers. Check out the Seymour Duncan Strat pickup range. None of the humbuckers will sound exactly like true single coils but you will lose the hum.
If you are playing at home close to a TV or computer monitor that will be making the hum worse.

Another alternative to sc sized humbuckers are Fender Lace Sensors. They're true single coils but are noise canceling. I've got one and it does just what they claim (and it sounds good too).

Positions 1, 3 and 5 are for the neck, middle and bridge pickups respectively. Each position turns on only one pickup, not like positions 2 and 4 which turns on two pickups that will cancel out the 60 cycle hum. There is definitely some 60 cycle hum problem. If the wiring has a loose or open ground wire, the buzzing will be worse. However, your power line may also be connected to some devices that is running an AC motor or fluorescent light, which will also cause the 60 cycle hum. I would suggest plugging your amp to a known clean power source and see if you still have the buzzing. You may even want to play it on another amp and check it out.
