Fixing screw threads

I have a 59 neck that i took out of a direct mount guitar. The height adjust screw holes have been drilled out.
What is a good way to fix that?
Ive thought of buying nuts at the hardware store and soldering them on, but not sure I can solder to a nut.
Ive also thought of soldering the screw into the hole then trying to back it out hoping it cuts its own threads in the solder?
Taping the screw holes is out btw and so is replacing the base

Find the screw you want, find a nut that fits, put the screw through the mounting ring, then through a spring, then through the pickup, then through the nut, and then tighten it. Use some purple threadlock to secure the nut to the baseplate, and then boom, you have it. Functionally the same as welding the nut to the baseplate, but easily reversible.

Ah cool. So purple lock tight is that strong??
Ive only ever used the red stuff on cars.

Purple is the weak stuff. Blue is medium, red is strong. I assume it would be best to start weaker.

You don't have to use a thread locker, just an adhesive that's strong enough to hold the nut in place.

ive used nuts soldered on before, and it worked fine. there may be better ways, and honestly i might swap the baseplate to keep a direct mount one handy in case i need it in the future
