Re: flashback x4 and flashback triple delay

Not using one, but I have not heard or read anything negative ever to the best of my memory…

Re: flashback x4 and flashback triple delay

I have the flashback x4 it sounds great but you have to set the presets depending on the room as it is easy to go overboard with the delay mix because it sounds cool and use too much. My favourite settings are the Space Echo and Analog w/ Mod as well as a couple of toneprint I made using the editor I recommend it, it seems to be a bit warmer then other delays (at least based on videos as I haven't played a Strymon or Eventide) whether this is good or bad is personal taste .

Re: flashback x4 and flashback triple delay

hi guys,
if I buy a TC flashback or TC flashback x4 or TC flashback triple delay??? using the tone print option on the flashback delay, how many toneprints can I download and store/bank into the flashback delay, only one??? more then one??? ten???

all the best, bluesfloyd

Re: flashback x4 and flashback triple delay

With the flashback x4 and the triple delay you can have 4 toneprint. I owned both and liked the triple delay the best. They have the same delays I just liked being able to use 2 or 3 delays at once if I wanted. If you want the looper go X4 if not go triple.

+1

To those of us of a certain age, the tc electronic delay models are pretty convincing recreations of the vintage sounds.

If you want to get picky, the simulations of multi-head delay machines ought to recreate all of the possible replay head permutations. This is why I do my David Gilmour impersonations via a Catalinbread Echorec.

Re: flashback x4 and flashback triple delay

hi guys,
thanks for your help above, lots of delays to think about, not worried about price, just want the best delay for me,

the Catalinbread Echorec delay, any more to say about this one ???? all the best, bluesfloyd

Re: flashback x4 and flashback triple delay

I have become a bit of a delay fiend Over time. I bought a boss DD7 years ago. I then got an MXR carbon copy as well when I needed to have two different settings at the ready for gigs. If I was buying a delay from scratch I would have just got an all in one unit like these TC units so I could have everything I needed in one pedal.

Re: flashback x4 and flashback triple delay

I'm a full-blown delay junkie. If you have some specific questions, shoot me a PM.

Re: flashback x4 and flashback triple delay

I'm a full

hi big flannel,
if I wanted to buy a delay pedal with many delay options possible, but also a large bank/store option in the pedal what would you suggest I look at ??? I am not worried about price, thanks for your time to help,

all the best, bluesfloyd

Does the Alter Ego do TonePrint?

Have any of you compared the bigger TC units to a Strymon or Eventide?

The Alter Ego X4 does feature toneprint. The toneprint editor software allows you to fine tune any of the vintage "units" (echoplex, Blue label DMM, echorec, etc.) however you desire.

I have not personally compared it to the Strymon offerings. Mainly because I don't feel the need to. I'm very satisfied with the quality of sound and features.

Re: flashback x4 and flashback triple delay

Should have gotten the Alter Ego x4 when they had them on sale for $180 or whatever....

Re: flashback x4 and flashback triple delay

It's got a couple of Binson presets, right?

Yes, sir.

One is normal Binson fare. The second is based on a particular unit owned by one of the PGS guys that developed a weird phase-y modulation over time. Something about the spinning disk getting warped over time.

The second one is my favorite.
