I agree with this- I've only ever heard the EverTune on one kind of music and essentially one kind of tone.

I have TP6 on several TOM guitars
This gives me the fine tuners at the right hand

On my locking tuners , I sometimes prefer one loop around post so I can loosen the tuners and access the nut or something while I am in that process

Most of the time, I prefer having non-locking tuners for that exact reason, honestly.

I have a TP6 on my Howard Roberts. It seems to work well with no downsides.

IIRC, back in the day Ibanez designed a version of their Low Pro bridge which was bolted in place more or less. Still hade some extra routing underneath it, but essently it was a locking trem system without springs or whammy bar. They used it on the early Mick Thompson signature models, and on some Meshuggah ones as well I think.
