Hellow Guys
How are yah? im gathering some $$$ to grab a JACKSON Guitar.
but i was checking and i noticed that (maybe, im not compeltely sure YET. need more research) i have a problem with LOW PROFILE STyle Bridges. Specially the Ibanez ones and every brand i played that has the low profile design.
so, i played the Jackson DK2M DInky snow white... and loved the guitar.. BUT.. that ****ing low profile bridge annoys me and i cant stand it.
so, heres one question : is it possible to swap the low profile floyd roses that comes with the new jacksons (these are the ones im interested : 1 - Dkmg dinky http://www.jacksonguitars.com/products/specSheet.php?product=2910100803
2 - http://www.jacksonguitars.com/products/specSheet.php?product=2911005803
3 - http://www.jacksonguitars.com/products/specSheet.php?product=2913025872
Another doubt : the MG series and the pro series are all made in ... Japan and ? Korea? or Usa??
SO, If i decide to of go with one those models with the JT580, will i have any problems swapping the bridge for a different one like a schaller or a original floyd rose?!?
And what kind of model is this FRT 02000 FLod rose?

I saw that these new jackson has 3 types of floyd rose bridges :
1 - Floyd Rose® Licensed Jackson® Low Profile JT580 LP double-locking 2-Point Tremolo
2 - Floyd Rose® FRT-O2000 Tremolo
3 - Floyd Rose® Original™ double-locking 2-Point Tremolo

I know what i dont want(Number 1)
(Number 2) Is what i dont know. if its low profile too, i dont want it.
and i know that the original floyd rose(number 3) Works for me. Also the Schaller FLoyd rose works too. thats my favorite.

HAILS AND THANKS IN ADVANCE
JP

Re: Floyd Rose Compatibillity on Jacksons

Yes, you can replace the Licensed Jackson® Low Profile JT580 LP double-locking 2-Point Tremolo (item 1 above) with OFR (item 3 above) I have seen couple people making this modification on their DK2Ms. I have one but I love it as it is. Keep the tuning very well.

I don't have any experience with Floyd Rose® FRT-O2000 Tremolo (Item 2)

PRO series Jacksons are made in JAPAN. I am not sure about MG. Only USA series are made in USA.

Re: Floyd Rose Compatibillity on Jacksons

Hummm thank you for your reply man. very helpful.
i was in doubt if it could be replaced or not cause i was thinking that the Low profile thing could have something to do with the whole guitar project , measurements, etc.
Low profile bridges are to achieve low action on the string or does it have another purpose? or.. am i completely wrong here!??!?
I Have a Charvel Fusion Deluxe and i LOVE the stock bridge that came in . q: )
i would have to TRADE this one with someone else here in germany and that will cause me some hard time and headache. Q: /

Re: Floyd Rose Compatibillity on Jacksons

The Low Profile bridge idea is to keep the fine tuners out of the way.

the Floyd Rose® FRT-O2000 Tremolo is the Korean made "OFR". It's available to OEMs only, so any you find on the open market has been removed from a guitar.

either of the two bridges you've listed will easily replace the 580LP trem from Jackson. The post spacing is the same, the only possible issue is the lock screws might be too long out the back.

The Gotoh Floyd will fit also. A Schaller would fit too, but there could possibly be intonation issues as they are normally set a bit closer to the nut than the OFR.

Re: Floyd Rose Compatibillity on Jacksons

Hmmmmmmmmmmm Thank you man
do you still have one of those floyd bridges you sold to me ? will it fit?!!??
theres one guitar here, used but in like new.. for a really good price. its that Jackson dk2m snow white dinky. problem is just the bridge Q: /
besides of that .. no problems at all Q: )
By The Way, do you have any charvel or jackson guitars for sale with the following features :
25,5 scale length - floyd rose (no low profile) ? price range is around 400 to 500 euros.

Exactly, thats all there is to is. IMO, it is more comfortable actually but they are not consistent when it comes to keeping the guitar in tune when trem bar is abused. Luckily mine turned out to be great.
