Floyd Rose Nut brand/quality

we've all seen the threads asking about the quality difference between brand-quality of the tremolo unit. IE: gotoh, schaller, guitar fetish brand, jackson jt580 etc etc

is there any discernable difference between the locking nuts of different brands?

One would expect harder steel to better resist wear and more precise machining to ensure better fit between threaded parts. Taken together, these ought to improve clamping function and, hence, tuning stability.

do you think there's a difference in quality between a schaller, or gotoh?

There are some differences in dimensions between the brands, but I haven't noticed any difference in quality.
