Floyd Rose Rattle?

I've got an EVH Wolfgang standard with a down only floyd rose. If I play unplugged loud enough the bridge rattles. If I've got the guitar laying flat the weight of the bridge is enough to stop the rattle. The only thing I changed was a height adjustment to set the action. I don't know if it rattled before this.

It looks like it's sitting on there pretty flat, but that could be the only problem I'm thinking.

Are the springs in the back rattling? Stuff a bit of foam in the rear cavity to see. Still rattling? Check anything that tightens on the wangulator. Could be the fine tuners, the locking screws, or even the bar.

Yeah, I've always just cut foam that comes with pickups in the springs, and it worked. They sell coated strings, too, if you want to get all fancy.

Maybe a loose screw somewhere? Don't crank em down too hard, but make sure everything is snug

I usually cut a little rectangle of foam and then stick it inside each spring before attaching them to cut down on spring noise. With a threaded collar I run a little plumber's tape around before securing the floyd on if it's loose at all - that will eliminate space and thus the rattle. There's not much else that should be causing you troubles there.
