Floyd rose sucks

Re: Floyd rose sucks

Yes, because it's a floater, if you break a string, the rest go sharp. Don't break strings.

BTW way this happens to EVERY tremolo that is set to float, be it FR, normal strat tremolo, bigsby, kahler, wilkinson. So it's nothing unique to FR's.

Oh he probably still plays better than most of us youngsters. But if you have the new album and with the deluxe edition came this dvd of few songs played live acoustically. I mean I respect Eddie for what he has done but those three songs actually sucked pretty bad. It's just what some of us want to expect from him knowing what has been able to do.

And the age is another excuse. As I don't think Eddie isn't an Übertechnical guitarist (still more of a feeling type) so his playing style/technique should more likely stay in shape longer than maybe Vai's.

I saw Eddie Van Valen twice on the last tour- the first time in Uniondale, NY he was great. A few months later in Atlantic City he wasn't that good.

But look at this recent live video of him in concert- IMO it's the best playing he's EVER done.

The new album I have- it's good, but you can't expect EVH to pull together the whole album- you need all members of the back to write, and the 3 just don't have the songwriting chemistry they once had. VH1 was their alltime best album- every album after that had some good songs but some very bad filler as well. If you take the entire new VH album, on a whole it's probably their best album since VH1- the problem is it's many years too late when radio isn't interested in playing guitar rock

Yeah Erik...My first really nice strat that I bought new...I had others in the past, but not like saving up for the new one on layaway.... ;o) Since lefty stuff is hard to come by,and I'm not hurting for money, best just to hang onto it(for now anyway)..

Gotcha. Makes sense. I'm that way with my Kramer Baretta. I had always wanted one when I started playing and though I don't play it much now, it still makes me smile when I do play it. I can't see myself selling it.

I did end up selling my first nice Strat only because I really wanted the SG Classic that I have and the Strat sale brought in about 90% of the cost. Couldn't go wrong and got a better guitar too.

Some of the Fralin stuff is great...Lew turned me onto this particular model and it's a really cool pickup...

Check it out

Cool. Will have to check that out when I get a chance.
