Does anybody know if it's possible to bloyd the floyd rose floating tremelo,i just never use it. I saw this floyd rose block and i think this will do it even though i have no idea how it works.
The 'Block' you linked to is not for blocking the trem. That is the large piece of metal attached to the bottom of the trem that runs through the body and the springs connect to it in the trem cavity. This or this are more likely what you need.
I have never tried either but someone else may be able to help you with their usefulness.
Basically you are just "shimming" in front of and behind the trem to keep it from moving.
It takes a few minutes to find the perfect combination of shims so that the trem sits perfectly, but after that it will be solid as a rock. I always use several thin shims to determine the perfect setting, and then remove them and make one solid piece out of a block of wood for the front and back, as to avoid losing thinner shims later. I hardly ever use the tremelo bar on a few of my guitars, so to keep it from "floating" in and out of tune I make it rock solid, so that it does not move at all. If you look in the trem cavity on back of the guitar, you will see where it has space for the trem to float forwards and backwards, this is where you want to "block" the trem from moving either way. Of course the trem is just for looks when set up this way, because it is not gonna move at all. I use the trem on some of my guitars and do not use it on others, but I do not let the presence of a trem dissuade me from buying a great guitar anymore. That is just how I do it and it seems to work, there might be a better way to do this.
