Fluence install images?

Anyone have images of Fluence wiring setups? The diagrams seem to lead to a bit of a rats nest. Any tips for keeping it tidy on a rear routed body? (Strat pickguards are pretty easy and the Tele set is all prewired.)

My Falbo guitar has Fluences wired by the guy who helped design them. It's two humbuckers, volume, push/pull tone, and a 5 way that does neck series, neck split, both humbuckers parallel, neck/bridge split parallel, and bridge series. The push/pull switches between the two humbucker voicings. Also has the onboard rechargeable battery/charging port.

I can snap some shots of the cavity if it'd be useful to you.

Isn't it same as EMGs? Or do you mean the pushpull for mode change thing?

DIY pushpull wiring done inside a cavity tends to look messy. If you want to reduce the mess a bit, have several extra inches of wire, drill a thin piece of scrap wood for pot holes, and wire on there before transplanting

Let me know if you need anything more specific.

Whichever Fluence set you're considering, get a hold of Frank, tell him what you're after, take his advice, and you won't be disappointed.

Three voices accessed by push-pull, etc. Flying leads everywhere. Zip ties will probably help to gather wires together a bit. You for the Humbuckers you can connect them EMG style if you only want to use a single voice with no splitting or HF Tilt. Once you step into multi voices and especially HSS/HSH it can get complicated.

Speaking of EMG, EMG’s modular solderless system is pretty clever. The 5-way blade becomes the hub of the system, being central plug and play location for power, ground, and I/O. I want to build a set just for the experience! Hava

Thank you. I think I’ve got a good handle on it, for this case it’ll be a pretty simple Classic HH with toggle/volume/tone, both push/pull for voice 2 and 3.

When did you get that instrument? Any more pics? And how do you like that deep panel 1/4” jack?

A few months ago I was talking to Frank about speccing a custom build. Got lost in option paralysis, and asked him for pics of similar builds to what we were discussing (8 string ergo). He sent me a pic of that one, and I fell in love with it. It was a NAMM guitar, and he cut me a killer deal.

Swamp ash body, roasted flame maple neck, stainless frets, Fluence Abasis, bridge he co-designed, and 25.5-27.5” scale.

More specifically about the Fluences, anybody who installs them without the second voice option is a fool. The Abasis in V1 are a mid-heavy aggressive bridge and a full, clear, jazzy sounding neck. V2 turns the neck into a better sounding PAF than the real PAF in my '62 LP/SG, and the bridge into the best sounding JB you've ever heard, which is copied from a particularly choice vintage JB Frank owns. The middle position in V2 is this glorious idealized Gibson sound. It's killer for slide. The single coil positions (2 & 4) are unaffected by the voice switch.

I’d never noticed anything particular about the jack, aside from it working as it should :)

It really is. Between the pickups delivering everything they claim and more, and Frank's absurd luthier skills, it really does anything with no compromises. I can't remember where you live, but if you're ever in the SW Ohio area, you need to hit me up and take it for a spin.

I used to travel to Springfield for work, but travel is on indefinite hold for now. If something happens I’d love to take you up on that offer!

Is it basically an Abasi signature prototype?

Frank was one of the people building Abasi Guitars early on. Stuff happened, he’s no longer involved, and uses his aspects of the design as his Alpha Ergo Singlecut model.

You know how Tosin gets every sound imaginable, and whether it’s hyper clean, warm and jazzy, breaking up, or nuclear levels of gain it sounds great? This does that.

I live in Yellow Springs, about 10 minutes south of Springfield. If you’re traveling, definitely get a hold of me.

FWIW, I put Fluence Classic Humbuckers in an Ibanez AF75, using 4 push/pull pots, in order to independently access all available tone combinations. My wiring is a bit sloppy, as this was a science project, more than anything:
