I use Dunlop straplocks on most of my guitars. Ive seen a few guitars that have the buttons sunk into the body and love how that looks. Is there any negative points to doing this? structural weakness to the guitar or??? I imagine its hard to do on a strat type where the button is on the horn. (drill the hole) But on a guitar like an explorer wherer the surfaces are flat. I just wonder if it would weaken the neck joint on a set neck like an explorer?
Any negatives to doing this? (other than losing the ability to use a strap on the outside of the button as one normally would)
If its safe, whats the best method to do it? Start small and increase drill size?
