I have owned four Hamer USA's over the years. GREAT guitars, one of the few brands that never ever needed any upgrades, everything from woods to hardware to pickups were all first rate. I only got rid of them when I developed bad back problem otherwise they were all keepers. My Special had one of the best tops I have ever seen, but I had others that played better:

That's a Sweetheart! Looks kind of like my February '96 Special FM. Built about two weeks before close of Chicago shop and move to New Hartford.
