!!!f'n Ebay Snipers!!!

Re: !!!f'n Ebay Snipers!!!

sniping is okay with me. I just think you need to know EXACTLY what the piece is worth to you, then snipe with that amount.

They actually ahve software that will do that for you, but i've read horror stories where someone didn't program teh software correctly and two indepedent programs bid up really freaking high on an item that wasn't worth much.

What I hate are those auctions that end at like 3 AM. Hard to stay up for those.

The main "problem" is people with pink glasses wanting the deal of a lifetime, typing in that amount, and then getting pissed when someone bids what the item is actually worth... Essentially what is happening here.

Exactly! ;)

My eBay tactic has never changed. When I see something I'd like, I decide what's the maximum I'd pay for that - and be happy that I got it. I bid that amount, whether there's 10 seconds, or 10 days left. Then I never look back.

I just wait for the email that says I won or I lost. I've gotten killer deals, I've never been burned, and I never cry in my Wheaties. ;)

Here's an other idea, If you see an auction with a starting amount reasonably similar to what other past items have gone for, don't be afraid to bid once THEN put a higher amount so it list's as 2 bids.
You may end up driving off would be bidders!
what exactly do you mean by this?

say i see a pedal i like, freshly listed. i bid £1, £1.50, £2, and so on repeatedly till like a fiver.. i've only bid £5, but people viewing the auction will see '9 bids' in the box, and not bother watching it because they already think there's a war on for it..

Nope, similar here....

The last 5 minutes look like this (when bidding from home).... All times are t minus, and when people are her they´re confounded by how mechanically it runs down... I actually have this list from a bro that watched me win 4 acutions on separate occasions and decided to study 3+4 :D:D

5... Refresh bids list, mix about 5 bowls of mixture, smoke one

4... Refresh bids list, check online banking or paypal (depending on payment method), smoke a Bowl

3... Refresh bids list, smoke another bowl

2... Refresh bids list, enter maximum bid, confirm password if necessary, smoke yet another bowl

1... press F5 about 25 times, shoot off max bid, refresh one to two times

0... either be happy about winning or pissed about losing (usually the former), smoke last bowl :smoker:

Re: !!!f'n Ebay Snipers!!!

Snipe or be sniped... it's that simple. Put in the max amount of money you're willing to spend on an item, arrange to have it snipe within the last few seconds of the auction and cross your fingers.

I hate the people that drive up the price of an item 3 days before the auction ends. Very often it's those auctions that go way over what the reasonable selling price should be (thanks to stupid people). Don't cry if you put a bid in a few hours before it ends and somebody beats you at the last second.

If you put in a bid that nobody else will match you on, you'll win, whether you put it in last second or a day before. We get greedy and try to get it for a cheap price and then it's no surprise that there are a million people trying to outbid you by just a buck or two to win the item. If you up it to much more than what the next guy will try to outbid you on, you'll win, especially in that last minute timeframe. It all comes down to how much you want it...
