For 70's hard rock-Alnico II Pro/Custom Custom?

Am I on the right track with this combination? We're talking in a mahogany body and neck w/maple top through an EL34 British voiced amp. Hard rock meaning Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath, VH, Free, Nugent. A little guidance, guys.

Well as far as the Custom Custom goes. This pickup rocks in general. I can tell you right now it covers all your sabbath bases pretty well, from the self titled to sabotage. It rocks the sabbath tones pretty well. I have also played some VH type stuff, and it does that stuff well too.

I can't say anything about the A2P. Haven't used it.

It should work, if your axe is bright. Personally, I like the PGn/C5 combo in my LP. It does pretty much all the tones you mentioned and has a tighter low end than the CC.

I tend to go for C-5/59 for LP w/gain and Seth set for LP with midgain/clean.

Another idea to consider is to get yourself ready to buy that new Forum 10K PAF, in mid January. I think I may pair a PG neck in nickel with it.

Yes, yet another option to consider, just when I thought I had it narrowed down!
