Re: For Sale: Fender Deluxe Roadhouse Strat - Like New

My friends dad gave her one just like this when she waas a kid...and then he passed away from cancer.. and during hard times she sold it and has regretted ever since. I have been trying buy another one like it forever,,, I have found some but they either have the wrong neck or the new pickups or what ever.. but the one you got is a dead ringer... any ways thanks for your time.. sorry for the long response time..

No prob man, and sorry for your loss. But note that in Butch's first post, the 1st & 3rd pics are of an HSS axe. That was it's original form. In the 2nd pic, it has been converted back to the standard SSS configuration. That's the axe I bought. (Which I love.) Also, the EC tone circuit and the S1 switch, were removed before I got it. And that's cool. That's how I wanted it.

So, it probably wasn't in the original "Roadhouse" config that you may have been looking for. In it's present state, it's more or less, a standard Strat. You can find those anywhere.

And Butch, in case you're reading this, this Strat is exactly as you represented it, and exactly what I wanted. It's tied with one other as my favorite axe.

For those who might want to know, When I bought it, it was an off-the-shelf Fender Deluxe Roadhouse Strat. I removed the S1 and mid-boost pots and replaced them with CTS 250k pots. I bought an HSS pickguard in aged pearl and a Fender humbucker which is actually one of my favorite humbuckers. Then I wanted to go back to an SSS configuration but I didn't like the Texas Special in the bridge position; so I bought a Twang Banger and there you have it....
