For the guys who have more than 2 amps...

I know that there are several of you guys who have a really great collection of amps. For arguments sake, let's say you could only keep one amp, you had to get rid of the rest. A guy is robbing your house and he's gonna let you keep one of you amps. The Robbers van isn't big enough to hold all of your amps. Based purely on the amps whose tone you love the most, which one are you gonna keep? Ignore for the moment, if possible, value as a collectible in the case of vintage Marshall andFender amps.

Re: For the guys who have more than 2 amps...

Gosh one minute I would say my Vibrolux and the next I would say the Dr. Z. How about the option of B Bent gives the robber a Chuck Norris roundhouse to the throat and then steals all of the other amps he has stolen from the previous robberies?

Re: For the guys who have more than 2 amps...

I'd have the guy steal my Triamp combo (45 kilos of combo! Suck on that!), and I'd keep my Brunetti MC2. Soon, a Mesa Subway Rocket will be added, so if I'd get robbed right NOW, I'd still have two fine tube amps left :)

Nice thought but he's 15 feet away and has his 9mm pointed at you. Besides the fact that he's already surprised you and you're tied up with kevlar wire.

Besides...even Chuck Norris gets tied up occasionally and Trevet has to rescue him.

Paul do you mind elaborating/describing that tone?

Greg, I was hoping you would name your other amp.

Re: For the guys who have more than 2 amps...

I don't know....I really like my Z and my Marshall..........but the one I'd have to keep would be the Vibro Champ. It isn't the sound I always want or use, but it sounds great, is versatile, is a blackface, and was my Grandmothers.

Hmm... I'm much more precious about my amps than my guitars...

It's tough. I'd probably pick my Gibson Invader. It has *the* tone plus it's loud enough to use for a small club gig. The Champs would only lose because of volume considerations.

Re: For the guys who have more than 2 amps...

The Velocette stays.

The Princeton Reverb II I have never been able to make sound good, the Blues Junior is easily replaceable although there is the hassle of having to mod it again and the Deluxe Reverb Reissue can be found again easily, although the NOS Tubes and Vintage speaker would be tough to replace.

Funny though...out of all my amps the Velocette is more of the one-trick pony....but MAN....what a trick!

Re: For the guys who have more than 2 amps...

This is a pretty hard question. I think my custom built 59 Bassman in a 2X12 tweed cab. It's bigger than my little combos, smaller than my half stacks and sounds great for either recording or jamming.

Then I'd seek this bastardo out to the ends of the earth, tie HIM up and Kevlar and make him watch porn videos or Roseanne and Tom Arnold. Then I'd make him listen to me play and REALLY make him wretch, LOL.:smokin:

Re: For the guys who have more than 2 amps...

Jokes on him! He comes in looking for a big haul of fancy amps, and all he finds is this:

While he's rolling on the floor laughing, I tie him up with Kevlar and proceed to take out on him all my pent-up anger for the guy who stole my customized-by-me 1979 JMP MV 2203 w. 2 EVM-12L's Marshall combo (not to mention the van and all the other gear) back in 1984.

Re: For the guys who have more than 2 amps...

He can take my Mesas and my AC30, but he can't have my Fender Super Reverb. Also, I piss on the other amps just because.

Re: For the guys who have more than 2 amps...

I'll keep my '77 JMP 2204. A one trick pony, but it's my favourite trick. :D

The 2553 Silver Jubilee is a great amp and probably more collectible and valuable but I just gotta keep that 2204.

The Tech 21 TM60 is versatile and portable with great features. I'll let it go then pick up another one on Ebay.

Roland Cube 30 - nice practice amp, but I can live without it.

Re: For the guys who have more than 2 amps...

Bogner Shiva - works on almost any gig from Classic to Modern, R&B to Hard Rock and possibly some Metal.

If I ever get an Ecstasy, that might be my new answer.
