For those of the sharp eye: what guitar is this?

In my random YouTube wanderings I came across a video of Zakk Wylde shredding away on some sweet hollowbody while being interviewed. I think I see the Gibson flowerpot on the headstock but it's no model I've seen before. Anybody know what it is?

Ah no clue, but that Doom Troopin' Live dvd is friggin' awesome. I'm sure someone around here will know though.

Looks like a Gretsch. Not sure exactly model offhand, can't see the controls, pickups, hardware, etc, too well.

Re: For those of the sharp eye: what guitar is this?

Is it not a Gibson Chet Atkins model from the late 80's?

Re: For those of the sharp eye: what guitar is this?

It's a Gibson Chet Atkins Tennessean a model made between 1990 and 2008 it originally came with either a stop tail or a Gibson version of a bigsby type vibrato later versions had a real bigsby.

btw the Astoria is now a tunnel access shaft.

...the venue?

O.O

Famous London Venue which has now been pulled down. Right now it's an access for a new rail tunnel shaft then they are going to build offices and retail opportunities. It was a shady deal by the former Mayor and his chum Vince Power of the Mean Fiddler group.

Did Gibson even copy the Gretsch thumbnail inlays? That's just wrong...

Is nothing sacred?

Thanks! Too bad it's discontinued and very desirable. Not looking like I'll acquire one without wheelbarrow loads of cash.

The sad thing is, it took Gibson to make the clean, non-gaudy Gretsch I've been desiring. The only thing about this guitar is it's a "thinline" so presumably has the maple center block and I'm lusting after that airy Gretsch sound.
