I think the JB has more mids than the Distortion IMO. I always thought that the JB sounded less "metal" but it had little bit bigger of a tone because of those mids.

I think the Distortion is good too but just more "metal" or "thrashy" sounding to me. I wouldn't hesitate to use it for almost anything though.

Hmmm . . . so, if one had a neck Distortion, and put an A5 mag in it, they'ld have a neck JB?

Or . . . if you just put the neck Distortion in the bridge, you'ld have a slightly hotter, fuller JB?

I dont' know if a neck Distortion would be hotter than a bridge JB.....aren't the necks deliberately cooler in output??


But your first idea sounds very plausible....
