For those with a PedalTrain...

some questions-
If you have a hard flight case...about how heavy is your pedalboard full of pedals? does the lid come off toatally- so you *could* possibly leave the board in the bottom half?

if you have the soft case...can you just unzip the case, open, and play, or do you have to take it out? does the case attract lint/pet hair, etc?

for y'all...how do you like it compared to other pedalboard solutions?

Re: For those with a PedalTrain...

I have the flightcase huge freakin version. It's heavy, I'd say a good 50-60 lbs once loaded with pedals plus it's big and cumbersome. Also the lid does not come off entirely so you do have to take the board out of the case.

Re: For those with a PedalTrain...

I have the soft case version. It doesn't seem to attract lint/pet hair. You can keep it in the soft case, but I always end up pulling it out anyways. The Pedaltrain is a great pedalboard, can't say enough good things about it :)

Re: For those with a PedalTrain...

ahhh...50-60 pounds?!???! even if I get the '2' version, not the big pro version, 30-40 pounds is pretty heavy to carry around.

ok ok, for the soft version, is the case pretty durable for around town trips?

Re: For those with a PedalTrain...

It's held up pretty well for me. The zippers do seem a bit fragile, so don't try forcing it on the pedalboard if you want it to close. I think my Pedaltrain Pro SC weighs in at about 30 lbs. after all the pedals have been loaded, so it's not too bad.

Re: For those with a PedalTrain...

I bought a Pedaltrain Jr with the soft case awhile back and the case was falling apart right out of the box. The board is great but the soft case was garbage. I bought the road case for it when they came out and I couldn't be happier. It's heavy and bulky but NOTHING is going to damage my pedals in that thing, so it's worth it for me.

Cheers,

CJ

Re: For those with a PedalTrain...

I've got the soft case as well with a pedaltrain 2. I suppose that you could leave all the pedals in it all the time, but it's so easy to get in and out of the case that I always take the board out when I'm playing. The soft case is pretty light weight (definately not more than 40 lbs fully loaded), even with the board in it. The case is made out of pretty heavy material and I haven't had any problems with it. I wouldn't force the zippers if they get stuck, but they seem to be good quality - haven't had any problems with them.

No problems with the case attracting lint and pet hair. It's a lot like a nylon guitar strap, so stuff doesn't really seem to stick to it very well . . .

Re: For those with a PedalTrain...

apparently, there were 2 versions of the case- the first was not too good- people have reported tears and handles falling off. the new one seems pretty robust, but i have hard floors here, and lint and dirt sticks to anything that is fabric, so it is a constant battle.

so, with the hard case, is there room inside for some cables and stuff or is it pretty snug on there?
