Forced to use a 500k tone pot, but want tone/sweep of a 250k

Re: Forced to use a 500k tone pot, but want tone/sweep of a 250k

Reporting back to the three of you since you were interested...

DavidRavenMoon nailed it, the 500k resistor across the 500k tone pot works flawlessly. Sweep is pretty much identical to how it used to be and the affect of the pot value on the overall tone is identical to the standard 250k pot, at least to my ears.

Thanks again everybody!

so I take it you used a linear pot for the tone with the resistor in parallel? on a meter the tone pot taper is changed quite a bit with a parallel resistance added if the pot is audio...but if linear you don't get much evident to the human ear change as the small amount of resonant peak that exists as flat as the range is with linear throughout anyway wouldn't be noticeable until the bottom 2-1 range in the ccw motion with or without the added resistance.
Whatever works for you though
