Re: Forum Pickup Poll #2: Everything Else

We could even make it more specific of a process.

Say we do that. We put seven (or however many) pickups in the same combined poll, one vote per person this time.

it might be a bit quick to declare The Big Winner just from that poll...unless it's a landslide (say one pickup gets a majority of the votes – meaning over 50 percent – as opposed to just getting more votes than any other pickup).

So after the combined poll, if no pickup has a majority, we can look at what we have, and decide which route to take.

If there were some real underperformers (for instance, below 15 percent), but there were three or four other pickups that weren't all that far apart, then we can release the underperformers and do another poll on an even more winnowed down field.

If there were two clear front-runners, leaving the rest of the field way behind, they could go up against each other as the next step.

Either way, I think the final vote being between two choices is a good way to go. You don't want to put three or four up against each other in the final vote, resulting in the "winner" being a pickup that only got 30 percent of the vote, or something like that.
