Will be interesting to hear what you think of difference between the two woods. With the SP43 is he using Steal slugs that are magnetized or is there a mag on the bottom?

The SP43 uses has adjustable screw polepieces - like a P90. And ceramic mags on the underside.

It's kind of a P90 in a Strat size, and a very good sounding pickup - especially in the bridge position.
