Found a Q-Filter -should I bother?

Hey all, I just found an old Q-Filter in my parts bin. I last used it about 10 years ago but only used it in the boring way to "remove windings". It was underwhelming at the time.

Now that I'm putting together a new HH axe with room in the control cavity, it's begging for something different to spice things up... Since the Q-Filter is just an inductor, I wonder if something interesting couldn't be done with it?

I have a passive midrange a la Rothstein in a HSS strat and it is useful. Has anyone here done more intersting circuits with their Q-Filter?

I would try that filter in a bass guitar.

Is the Q-Filter active? I never used one but was curious. I remember the ads in old Guitar Player magazines.

No, it's passive -just an inductor. You can see similar inductors as tiny transformers used for Varitone circuits or the passive midrange by Torres/Rothstein.

If memory serves, this one was 0.9 H while the current model is 1.5 H (yet smaller!).

I learned this stuff in university but have forgotten most of it except the basic concepts.
