Well, i had it all along, just didnt know it:

IMG_1681.jpg

Sanded out the red today on my epi phony (thanks to monty jay for the idea and the advice)

Yeah i know i didnt do a great job, i oversanded a couple of bits (never was a perfectionist anyway)

I like it though :)

Got a couple of gold covered pickups coming for it.....but now i'm not so sure it will look right...

So i want your opinion....

Pickups: Gold, Chrome, or uncovered?

Knobs: ?

Switch Tip: ?

Pickguard or no pickguard?

Bridge is going to be the original chrome thing. I'll mainly be jazzin' with this guitar if that influences your opinion.

Cheers!

Re: Found an orange guitar (your aesthetic opinion required)

Uncovered, No pickguard, maybe a coat of something to make it more 'shiny' . Chrome knobs maybe,

Re: Found an orange guitar (your aesthetic opinion required)

nickel pups...def no pickguard, black knobs and pup rings...not the gibson knobs though, go with something black and more tele style imo

thats a sweet orange color, awesome that you found it under another coat

Re: Found an orange guitar (your aesthetic opinion required)

Reminds me of the finish on my double cut but way nicer. Why a company would ever cover that with paint is beyond me.

Uncovered (possible zebra), amber knobs, cream switch tip and rings, NO P/G!!!

Thats what I would go for, but if your jazzin' I would say chrome covered p'ups

Re: Found an orange guitar (your aesthetic opinion required)

I say go with creme pickup rings, and double creme SD pickups.

Re: Found an orange guitar (your aesthetic opinion required)

Chrome out the hardware (TOM, STP, knobs, pickup rings) and throw in black bobbin buckers.

Re: Found an orange guitar (your aesthetic opinion required)

Chrome Seths and hardware, cream rings and switch tip, amber top hats. What can I say, simple is my thing.:dunce:

Re: Found an orange guitar (your aesthetic opinion required)

Uncovered if you go double cream or zebra. Nickel or chrome if you go covered. I wouldn't want to combine gold covered pups with chrome bridge, tailpiece and tuners.

And if you skip the pickguard, i say get some speed knobs in amber.

Re: Found an orange guitar (your aesthetic opinion required)

Gold pups with a chrome bridge on an orange guitar? I think it would win the 'Ugliest Thing Ever, Ever' award.

Chrome hardware, black pickups and mounting rings, and black knobs...now that'd be sweet.

The hardware is mostly gold but the eagle-eyes might pick up the chrome bridge... the original loose-o-matic collapsed & I got the chrome one from a brother here.

I think my guitar is a Gary Moore model that someone tricked out with the gold hardware... it's not a standard & I don't think it's a Studio... but... iz niiiiiiicccce.

Yeah i'm not sure what i was thinking with the gold covers.

Decided to go with nickel covers.

Still not sure bout the rest.

Love that axe moose

Re: Found an orange guitar (your aesthetic opinion required)

I would go with black hardware (switch tips, knobs, mounting rings, tuners, bridge) and nickel covers for the pups, but gold might also look good.
Sweet axe Mr Moose

Re: Found an orange guitar (your aesthetic opinion required)

Chrome to match, Zebra PUs, Cream plastic, no guard, Amber tophats.

Mix of classic and progressive, all class...

Re: Found an orange guitar (your aesthetic opinion required)

Def. uncovered pups, either black or zebra, pup rings in cream and amber speed knobs.

Re: Found an orange guitar (your aesthetic opinion required)

Uncovered Zebras.

Gold speed knobs.

Hey J MOOSE!!

Nice Swamp Ash Special. :)

That looks like my amber Gibson Les Paul Classic. Are you sure that's orange? Anyways, I say make it look like mine.;):)

Looks pretty cool, you might want to post another pic, maybe on in the day light. The one you have is kind of dark.
