Found some old Mullard tranny's. Need circuit ideas.

I've acquired a few very old Mullard Ge transistors. Most are OC42, but there are a couple others. Aren't these highly regarded in pedal circles?
Anyone have a good schematic, or idea, on how to best utilize these in a guitar circuit?

Ive certainly seen fuzzes ( usually fuzz face types) built around those old Mullards.

The 42's are germanium which is sought after vintage pedal type of transistor material.

I like doing fuzz face based pedals with a combo of germanium and silicone like this one:



They're a little more temperature stable than purely germanium circuits, but have all of that germanium splatty tone. Plus you can build more of 'em with fewer germanium transistors.

If it was me, I'd just build a rangemaster... nothing like those with a nice "not too leaky" mullard.

No problem, it is simple yet very cool sounding (a classic!). Make sure you check out how you can bias the transistor properly and you'll be golden.
