fozzy gear

i bought happenstance a couple days ago, and it kicks a ton of ass. i was just wondering, does anybody know what kinda gear they use? i remember just from videos and stuff ive seen, one of the guys (the one who dresses up like a knight) uses wolfgangs and LP customs (ive seen him with a natural one and a maple fretboard one) into peavey XXX's, but thats about all i know. i have no idea about the other guy, or their pickups

Re: fozzy gear

I totally dig the new Fozzy CD, it kicks ass. Great tunes, great riffs, great tone. I recently read an interview in one of the guitar mags where the main guitarist (Rich Ward formerly of Stuck Mojo) plays Les Paul Customs with Duncan PATB's, but I don't remember much else. I think the lead player plays Wolfgangs, but the cool rffing is Rich Ward.

Re: fozzy gear

i looked around the pics area of theyre site, and its rich ward i was talking about (theres a pic of him playing a wolfgang right infront of a XXX haha) and hes got both those LPs i was talking about on there too. they have a new 2nd guitarist on every album it seems, so i guess rich's gear is what matters

Re: fozzy gear

If you liked Happenstance, you really need to listen the very first Fozzy album. "Livewire" and "the Prisoner" were highlights for me!

Re: fozzy gear

yes i do...i have the origional priest version also...i guess i should have noted that a bit better in my first reply...that's why i said great "classic" riffing...i didn't want to go and say i like their version a bit better due to the guitar tone and get die hard priest fans panties in a bunch hahaha...plus like i said, the openeing scream just rocks and the origional doesn't have that.....it's the little things lol.

Re: fozzy gear

Fozzy are a really cool band. Their new album has got some pretty good songs on it.

I actually tabbed out the song Enemy from the new album, and posted it on this Fozzy forum, and then a few days later the guest guitarist who played the solo on that song e-mailed me saying that the tab was very good! I couldn't believe it.

But I don't know what pickups or anything these use.

Rich Ward uses Pearly Gates pup's in his guitars.
He just gave an interview in one of the mags (I can't remember which one) in the past month or two where he claims to be using the PATB.

As for the guest guitarist on "enemy", it's Zakk. So dude, are you saying Zakk personally emailed you regarding your tab of the solo?

No Zakk isn't the guest guitarist on enemy, he's on Wanderlust I think. The guitarist on Enemy is called Jon Beato.

Re: fozzy gear

zakk is on "wanderlust" (if you couldn't tell by the tone of the solo) but it also sounds like he's soling on nameless. i mean the tone and the killswitch effect are very "wylde". tremonti solos on "the way i am", marty friedman does some guitar work on "born of anger". myles kennedy adds some vocal magic to "nameless" and bone crusher and alison divine appear on "it’s a lie".
