frahlin p90s vs split singles?

Finishing up specs on my warmoth mahonany L5 and had narrowed p90s down to Lfrahlins and SDs- Called Frahlin today and told him what I was up to- He noted that low noise noise was a requirement and suggested that I consider his split singles saying their sound is very p90 ish-

I was pretty set on p90 pups and definately need that sound, but after all it was LF and I figured I should see if anyone has expereince with these yet?

Anyone that wants to read more can look here, but was looking for thicker sound than my strats, but more bite than my 2hum gtrs-

I haven't tried a Split Single but I'm very interested. My one concern is that the treble side has its 3 pole pieces away from the neck whereas I like 'em closer, like a regular 6-in-line P90. If he reversed the stagger, I probably would have bought one by now.

Ok, silly question but if the leads are long enough couldn't you flip the pup?

You can spin the pickup 180 degrees, but you still end up with the 3 treble (GBE) poles far from the neck and the 3 bass poles (EAD) close to the neck. Just draw a picture of a split single on a piece of paper and rotate it 180 degrees and you'll see what I mean.

But for the rest of you, common give me some opinions! I've made a ton of decisions regrading this axe and would really appreciate some in put as there's a lot of p90 nuts on this site that have to be asking questions like-
-Why would you use anything other than a p90 to get a p90 sound?
-Or as great as LF pups are, this one isn't documented well enought to compare and contrast
-Or at least, if you stick to p90 routing at least there are a lot of options, but once you route for hums, the p90ish sounds are only phatcat, bluesbreaker and LF?

On the other hand you might see advantages over the split hum removal take to that of a stacked p90-

Actually I'm heading off on the road again and won't get to make final decisions until next week some time, but it would certainly be nice to come back to a big thick thread where y'all debated some of these points out
