Fralin P90s?

If If replace my Washburn P90s, I'd like to stay with:
~7k on neck
~8.5k on bridge

Would that be the Fralin -10% neck/+5% bridge set up? I'm figuring the stock is 8k. So:

8k x 90% = ~7.2k
8k x 105% = ~8.4k

  • Is that about right?
  • How does this compare with Lollars?
  • How do they sound compared to the higher rated Vintage SD P90s?

Re: Fralin P90s?

I know it's just a boring pickup question. But I just can't get hooked up with the whole "posting rules" discussion. Bump ... anybody?

Fralin P90's are very nice, give them a call. You'll probably get the man himself on the phone and he's pretty friendly and easy to talk to. The Duncan Antiquities are 8.5k, so maybe get one of those and an underwound one from the neck from Fralin.

I have that set you are talking about in my hollow strat. They sound great, but I'm not sure what the output numbers are. I just know I wanted something with lower output than the SD hot and custom P90s in my Tele Jr.

Indeed he is VERY friendly. I couldn't get him off the phone!!! LOL!

He knows his stuff, give him a call.
