Framus guitars

anyone ever try one of these? I know Mark Morton uses a Framus Panthera and Will Adler uses a Framus Diablo (both from Lamb of God BTW), but has anyone had any experience with them?

Re: Framus guitars

My local music shop has a couple of vintage Framus's, I love 'em. I'm a sucker for weird ass vintage guitars.

Re: Framus guitars

I was going to buy one a while ago but I couldn't get one as they didn't have an importer in Finland. They're supposed to be very high quality german made axes with a bit of personal design choices. I'd still love to have one, they're quite affordable too here.

Re: Framus guitars

Are these the same Framus guitars that Rik Emmet from Triumph used to play? He got his from Jan Akkerman(Focus) and I was just wondering if it's the same company since it's been so long. Rik did get signed with Yamaha though later on in Triumph but he used to play that Framus for a while. J/W if anybody knew.

That was the model I was interested in too. Those are really cheap here, you can get them for less than a fender standard american strat I think.
yea.. they're about 150 cheaper than an american fender

Re: Framus guitars

When I Saw LoG Mark only played Jackson guitar, but those Framus look really nice and I would love to try one someday.

Rock On - kac

Re: Framus guitars

I realize I posted this thread over a year ago lol, so I know the gear that they use is different now. Anyway thanks for the tips guys!

Re: Framus guitars

I've played a Diablo Custom. Can't say I dug it that much. The neck was sticky, and the whole guitar just felt bland.

Re: Framus guitars

WOW! I want that Camarrilo Custom thas so nice.

How do u guys afford these guitars?! Thousands of dollars its crazy, and some of you have like 10 guitars. I also want all of Zerbs guitars! SO AWESOME

Re: Framus guitars

haha, come to europe.. they go for a third less BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA payback

Re: Framus guitars

I own two of them:

An old archtop which I will sell as soon as it is restaurated. It is like most vintage Framus very poor quality.

My long time favourite is my Framus Renegade Pro (1st version from early 90's): Tele-style body, Wilkinson Trem and 4 (!!!!) Seymour-Duncans: SSL1 neck, SSL1 middle, SSL3 bridge + HotRails Bridge
Great neck, but some there is one bad mistakes in workmanship, thus I will probably also sell it. My Strat Elite is replaces it for versatility.

In general Framus are great guitars, very high quality parts, high quality workmanship and great design. Try to get one used as it does not have a high resale value.
