Framus Renegade Pro

Goliath of Tone
ok.. was one of those occasional trips down to the guitar store to bug people about stuff, when a tele looking guitar stings my eye.

natural finish, something that looked like a full on rosewood neck (first timer for me) so i pick it up and see Comes stock loaded with Seymour Duncan Pickups on the nickel covered bridge.. OFF to the amp room!

so i plug it in and see that both the body and the neck (which is a little fatter than my SG's .. it has a rather slim neck though.. kind of like a LP custom) are very smooth. check the details and realise that both the neck and body are satin finished with a very thin layer of oil AWESOME!

the pups were a JB bridge and a 59 neck, one volume knob (which splits the pups into singles) and a tone knob, tele type, but angeled. string through hardtail bridge

played through a peavey amp.. sorry, but it was the only one available at the moment. it was a tube one thats for sure. the sound was as expected, but a little chimyer. the split sounds were cool too. with the amps clean channel the sound was almost twangy hehe. the lead one was ac/dc in a box. i could swear it was the same sound as hard as a rock. with a overdrive pedal (boss ds2 i believe) it got that push which has got AWESOME written all over it. sustain for days.

it costs 700 over here and if i had them (and not looking for a shredders axe ATM) i'd buy it imediately

the specs:
bookmatched swamp ash body
bolt on Ovangkol neck (no idea what that wood is, here's a pic of it Ovangkol neck ) with a rosewood fingerboard
JB bridge and 59 neck
string through hardtail

i got a ****ty pic with my phone, but i think it gives you the general idea (yup... very ****ty.. i think i might have shaken the phone when i took it :smack: )
*note* thats not the amp i was playing through.. i just noticed that it was plugged in lol
Picture(5).jpg

now i decided to get me some stuff and get my neck stripped down and do an oil finish. ZERBERUS! i need some info >.< LOL

sooo.. if someone is in for a good quality axe with an amazing natural sound and doesnt want to bother with installing duncans and doing a coil split.. this is the axe to go

Framus guitars kick ASS!!! 700 is pretty cheap, the local GC had a used Diablo Custom for a grand or so. Also, Framus HQ is in my town, literally like 10 minutes away. I wish I had a car...

Re: Framus Renegade Pro

I own a Framus Renegade Pro in red. Bought it new in 2011 (paid 1300 for it). It is, without a doubt, one of the nicest guitars I have ever owned / played.

Quality is without par, and the sound is incredible!

If you're looking for one, they pop up on Ebay from time to time.. Well worth a try!

On-topic, I still want one pretty badly. It'll sate my Explorer itch quite nicely...
